The Best Of The Amish Cook

Just finished reading The Best Of The Amish Cook, by Elizabeth Coblentz.  This is a chronological collection of The Amish Cook's columns and recipes from 1991 - 1996.
Elizabeth penned the newspaper column from 1991 through 2002, charming audiences with her simple wisdom, easy recipes and loving accounts of life on her Indiana farm. Elizabeth's column grew from one paper in 1991 to over 100 at the time of her death. The first newspaper to run her column was the Quincy Herald-Whig!  My Grandma Mary use to enjoy reading this column and would save the clippings for my Mom to read, over the years they both became devoted fans.
While my parents where living in Quincy Illinois The Amish Cook came to town on a book tour.  My Mom was out of town at the time for work and was unable to make it to the book signing, however when she returned home she had two copies of Elizabeth's new books Volume I and II.  They were even autographed by Elizabeth and couple of her daughters.  My Dad stood in line and got these books for my Mom - what a great surprise!!  I really enjoyed reading her columns, very interesting to learn about Amish traditions and recipes.  Thank you Mom for letting me borrow this great book, I sure thought of you and Grandma while reading it!!
