An Overland Park Afternoon (Wed. June 6th)

I received an American Express gift card in the mail yesterday for completing an online survey through our health insurance.  So today after I got home from my Doctor's appointment, I decided that AMEX card really needed to make a little trip over to the O.P.!!

Jeff and I decided to stop by and have lunch at Mr. Gyros.  We have been wanting to try this place for years.  Mr. Gyros is a great place, they serve authentic Greek food - yum!!

So here is what we ordered.......

1.  I got the original Gyro and Jeff had the Gyro melt
2.  Each Gyro came with a delicious Greek Salad
3.  Pastichio (we spilt a small side of this) it is casserole of layered ground beef, macaroni.  Baked with a cream topping.
4.  The pastries were demolished before the photo was taken!! We split two small Greek pastries - Baklava, and Galaktoboureko.  Very light and very good!

Next stop was to Whole Foods, I can not get enough of this store!  I have found that milk and yogurt are cheaper at this store compared to my local grocery stores. And they have weekly sales/specials on their produce - we got a HUGE container of fresh strawberries for $3.00
I did venture out and get three different items I have been wanting to try - kombucha tea, kefir, and shelled hemp seeds.  I will give them all a try and let you know how they are and explain what they are!! Ha!

Last stop was to a pet shop on the way out of town to get a dozen feeder fish for $1.50.  We got them for our small pound in the backyard.  They are really small and a bit hard to see. lol  I think they like their new digs, they have a lot more room to swim around and no longer have to worry about becoming a next meal!!
I might have spoken too soon about the last statement, Bodie might realize he has his very own sushi bar right in his own backyard!!  Also Lilly likes to drink out of the pond so she might accidentally slurp a few up!  Yikes, those poor fish don't have a chance!
