I love me some Target! I have found some amazing deals over the years. When I see those red mark-down stickers.....my heart skips a few beats. :)
So here are a few tips on how to find some great deals at Target (go ahead and pronounce it Targé if you're feelin' fancy!!)
Shop the endcaps. The endcaps are the shelves at the end of an aisle loaded with clearance merchandise. The endcaps with the most clearance merchandise are usually those farthest away from away from the main shopping aisles. I always check out the endcaps, even if I don't find anything I get a walk in while walking the perimeter of the store. A website I found actually calls this, "perimeter perusing”
Use the Price Scanner. Sometimes the clearance team misses an item that should have been re-stickered with a lower price. So if you see something you want, double check the price .
Target Mark Down Schedule -
MONDAY- kids clothes, electronics
TUESDAY- women's clothes, domestics
WEDNESDAY- men's clothes, toys, health and beauty
THURSDAY- lingerie, shoes, housewares, sporting goods
FRIDAY- cosmetics, hardware, auto, jewelry
Target Holiday Clearance -
50% off day after holiday for three days
75% off fourth day after holiday for three days
90% off seventh day after holiday for 1-2 days
Target follows a fairly consistent clearance strategy – 15%, 30%, 50%, 75% off and sometimes even 90% off (seasonal items seem to be the only ones that ever hit 90% off). The leftover clearance items are sent to the Goodwill. I have purchased brand new Target merchandise at our local thrift store.
I found an interesting website with many other Target bargain hints.
