Race day, its finally here. Weather was chilly and the pavement was wet. Hills proved to be a challenge for me. Unfortunately I did not train for hills. My goal was to not stop running, but I had to three separate times on three different hills. I still ran 90% or more of it. My time was 44:21. I paced a mile of 14:19. Overall the race went well. I certainly have room for improvement.
I had a great group of cheerleaders cheering me on. Mom, Dad, and Jeff were there for the race. Dad met me about 100 feet from the finish line and cheered and clapped for me the whole way. Mom and Jeff were waiting for me behind the finish line with great big hugs. Love you guys!
I sure did miss Trisha today. My sister has been my training buddy these past few weeks. Living in different cities we kept in contact with each other via email or phone. She was a great source of support for me during my training. Unfortunately she hurt her foot while training for the 5K and was not able to compete. Hope she heals quickly and is able to join me for the next one. Love ya!
I of course can't forget my two loyal blog followers, Jill and Nancy have both been following me on my blog from the start. Thanks so much you guys, your support means so much to me! Love you both! :)
Well this it for this section of the blog. I finished my 60 days to 5K, ready for the next journey to begin.
