Weekend Review

Friday after Jeff got off work we headed over to Nancy's house to drive over to Leavenworth.  We first stopped  off at a candle store that I have been wanting to check out (Candle Queen) it is such a cute little shabby chic boutique with everything from home decor to purses and of course CANDLES!!!  I picked out a great fall scented mason jar candle that Nancy got for me. (Thanks again!)  Then we headed over a couple of blocks downtown where Buffalo Bill Days was going on. It was sprinkling when we first got there but we came prepared with umbrellas in hand.  Once we got down there I was on the lookout for the Scentsy tent, and I found it just as it started to down pour!  Well this was clearly a sign from above that I was to seek shelter at that exact moment  in the Scentsy tent and purchase some wax tarts!! LOL  For dinner we ate at the Metropolitan Steakhouse.  Jeff and I both ordered the prime rib special that was delicious.  (Sadly no food pics, my camera battery was dead).  Thanks again Nancy for the fun evening!

Saturday began with me waking up at 5:00 am! I waited 45 min before I shared my grand idea with Jeff! "We should get up and go get freshly made donuts from our favorite shop the Donut King."  And to my surprise he went for it (as long as I promised he could go back to bed after we had our carb/sugar loaded breakfast treat)!  Aren't crazy little spontaneous adventures like that fun?!?  I am so lucky to have a partner in crime!  After a nap we got up and headed out to 2nd Saturdays in North Kansas City.  It was a small event, but fun! We bought lunch from the NKC Rotary Club and sat in the shade and listened to live Jazz music.  At one of the vendors booth I bought a awesome little piece of garden art with a solar light.  This is a local artist who is just starting out and all of his pieces where amazing. (I will try to post a pic of it in a few days or so).  The rest of the afternoon was spent shampooing our dirty carpet. :( Not a fun activity, but something that really needed to be done.  I moved stuff around and vacuumed and Jeff shampooed, it went by really quick.  For dinner we headed over to Five Guys and had some ubber delicious burgers and fries.  To wrap up the evening we went to Jeff's favorite video store in Overland Park. It was a crazy fun day!

Sunday after Jeff got off work we headed over to Applebees to use the gift card Mom and Dad sent J for his b-day (thanks guys!) We both got burgers again! And still no food pics, what kind of a blogger am I?!? After dinner we headed over to the movies to catch a creature feature.  Literally, we saw the movie Creature. Birthday Boy's choice!! LOL

A fun weekend celebrating Jeff's b-day!!
