Sunday we took them to the Nelson Atkins's Museum of Art, they had a kid's art day.

"A giant picnic blanket took shape Sunday, July 15, 2012, during the making of "The Picnic Project" art installation on the south lawn of the Nelson Atkins-Museum of Art.Kansas City Art Institute instructor of fiber Alison Heryer led the project which made a 10,000 square foot gingham pattern picnic blanket on the museum lawn. The public was invited to help place the 400 printed light colored tiles to complete the piece." CHRIS OCHSNER/The Kansas City Star
We took part and staked down our tile. It was so pretty, but it was just too darn hot to enjoy it.
Crappy cell phone pic, and poor Max looks miserable.
Some ice cream and a trip to Crown Center brightened every one's mood!
