The company that J has worked at for the last 5 1/2 years (formerly an independent bottler for pepsi) has been bought out by Pepsico, and with that comes big changes.
They are currently re-structuring the workforce, and J has put in for a newly created position that is a combination of what he did before and sales. We should know by April if he gets the position which would be a move up in the company! :-)
The position he is in now will go from 85 employees to roughly 15, with about 52 people getting opportunities to move to this new position! Though it seems a few people will loose their jobs, we have optimism that between his time with the company and experience in the grocery business (along with a college degree and management/customer service experience) he will have no problems moving into this new position.
That being said, it would not be me not to worry. So I know I will worry, but I am also going to stay positive and look at this as a wonderful opportunity. We will keep you updated.....
